HIGH POINT, NC — So many changes face new moms: hormonal and body changes, center-of-gravity shifts, sleep pattern alterations and emotional highs and lows. It can all be a bit overwhelming - for both moms and dads. “The Adventures of Parenting” offers practical information to assist with the wonderful transition from pregnancy to parenthood.

Join us February 21, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. for an evening of information on pregnancy and the newborn days. 

Presenters include:

Rachael Guzzardo, PT with High Point Physical Therapy will offer suggestions for pregnancy-safe activity, common aches and pains that get in the way and practical suggestions on how to overcome them while staying active. Rachael not only has the medical expertise to help you stay active, but she is a mom-to-be herself.

Robert Poth, MD with UNC Regional Physicians Pediatrics will focus on the first weeks of the newborn stage; sleep patterns, feeding habits, safety, etc. There can be anxiety related to welcoming a little one into your home knowing what to expect can help you prepare and allow you to focus on the precious new person that has entered your life.

Karen P. Bowers, RN and lactation consultant with High Point Regional’s Esther R. Culp Women’s Center will provide information about the benefits of breastfeeding and possible solutions to challenges that may arise.
